AIR DIAPHRAGM PUMPS

Air Driven Double Diaphragm pumps offer a reliable operation with the ability to pump a wide variety of products, operating on liquids with a viscosity similar to water up to a think viscose liquid of 30,000 cPs. They are extensively used within the Chemical, pharmaceutical, ink, paint, food & beverage industries, to name a few. Various body materials are available from cast iron, aluminium, stainless steel, Acetal, Polyethylene, polypropylene & solid PTFE. The Ashton Air Operated Double Diaphragm pump illustrated below/above, uses a very simple valve system to move the diaphragm shaft from side to side, which is attached to two flexible diaphragms. These diaphragms are available in a variety of materials from Neoprene, Nitrile, EPDM, Santoprene, Hytrel & Viton Rubber. PTFE diaphragms are also available for highly corrosive/aggressive applications. The four ball valves, located in each corner of the pump, are free-floating and operated by pressure differences in the pumped liquid. When large suspended solids are required to be pumped, flap valves are also commonly used.
