AODD – Air Operated Double Diaphragm pumps
Air operated diaphragm pumps offer a reliable operation with the ability to pump a wide variety of products, operating on liquids with a viscosity similar to water up to a thick viscose liquid of around 30,000 cPs.
They are extensively used within the Chemical, pharmaceutical, ink, paint, food & beverage industries, to name a few, and come in various body materials are available in cast iron, aluminum, stainless steel, Acetal, Polyethylene, polypropylene & solid PTFE.
AODD Pumps Explained
Diaphragm pumps use a very simple valve system to move the diaphragm shaft from side to side, which is attached to two flexible diaphragms. These diaphragms are available in a variety of materials from Neoprene, Nitrile, EPDM, Santoprene, Hytrel & Viton Rubber. PTFE diaphragms are also available for highly corrosive/aggressive applications. The four ball valves, located in each corner of the pump, are free-floating and operated by pressure differences in the pumped liquid. When large suspended solids are required to be pumped, flap valves are also commonly used.
AODD Pump Certifications
We offer a number of pump certifications for diaphragm pumps, these certifications are Atex, FDA, 3A, and EHEDG rated.

How to choose the correct AODD Pump
What are you pumping?
First thing, you need to ascertain what material you are pumping, and then we can work out compatible components you will need. You can use a free chemical compatibility checker to ascertain these components.
You will also need to know the viscosity (cps) of the material to help find a compatible pump.
What is the Flow Rate that you need?
You need to know your desired flow rate to select the right size of pump.
Suction and Discharge
The overall suction length and the vertical rise will be required
Inlet and Outlet
Are you using a certain hose with a specific inlet / out diameter?
Are you looking for a pump that is ATEX rated, or that is hygienic and is FDA or 3A rated?
