Some liquids will destroy a metal pump in short order, and that’s where Braude’s J Series comes into its own. These self-priming pumps are moulded from high-integrity polymers with strong chemical and impact resistance, handling hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, nitric and sulphuric acids. A high-efficiency closed impeller keeps performance respectable rather than sacrificing it for corrosion resistance.
The integral self-priming chamber is the feature that sells this range to most people. Once filled, it lets the pump lift from roughly 3.5 metres below its own position, genuinely useful for emptying settlement tanks, sumps and bunded areas below ground level. No separate priming arrangement needed.
Getting the seal right is the most important decision here. The Braude non-metallic seal, with its Viton bellows, is built for real chemical service and aggressive acids, while the stainless steel seal suits less arduous duties. Motors run from 0.25 kW to 1.5 kW at IP55, giving flows to around 30 m³/h, heads to roughly 17 metres, and liquids up to 100°C.

The J Series handles corrosive chemicals including hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, nitric and sulphuric acids. Compatibility depends on concentration and temperature as well as the chemical itself, so do check your specific duty with us first.
The non-metallic seal uses a Viton bellows for demanding chemical service, making it the right choice for aggressive acids. The stainless steel seal suits milder applications. Choosing wrongly is the commonest cause of premature failure, so please ask if you’re unsure.
Up to 100°C, which is unusually capable for a polymer pump. Chemical compatibility often reduces as temperature rises, so send us your fluid details and operating temperature and we’ll confirm suitability.
Ongoing raw material cost increases mean these are priced individually rather than carrying a fixed online price, so you get a current figure rather than an out-of-date one. Send us your model and seal requirement for a prompt quote.
