Diesel is not water, and transferring it properly needs a pump built for the job. The pumps gathered here are all specified for diesel transfer, whether that means refuelling plant on site, filling a generator in a remote location, decanting from an IBC or drawing down a bulk storage tank. Every one of them is self priming, which is what you want when the tank sits below the pump and nobody wants to be priming a line by hand.
The range splits neatly by power supply, and that is usually the first decision to make. Twelve volt and 24 volt DC models run straight off a vehicle or plant battery, making them the natural fit for mobile bowsers, service trucks and anywhere without mains power. Mains options in 110v, 230v and 400v suit fixed installations, workshops and yards, and generally deliver higher heads for longer pipe runs and lifts.
Construction is matched to the duty, with cast iron bodies and brass impellers on the mains units and lighter aluminium heads with acetal rotors on the DC models. Connections are BSP in three quarter inch and 1 inch, so hose tails and delivery assemblies fit without adaptation. One important point applies right across the range, these pumps are for diesel and similar approved liquids only, and none of them should be used with petrol or other low flash point fluids.
