Ebara’s borehole pump range covers submersible electric pumps from 3″ to 6″ diameter for drawing clean water from wells and boreholes in domestic, agricultural, and industrial applications. The range includes the SB3, 4WN, 4BHS, Idrogo, and SF6 series.
All models feature AISI 304 stainless steel outer casings, with impellers in glass fibre reinforced technopolymer or fully stainless steel depending on the series. Performance spans heads from under 10m on the smallest configurations to over 800m on the larger SF6 models.
The 4″ and 6″ ranges use NEMA-compliant motor coupling, allowing the hydraulic unit and motor to be selected independently for the required depth and duty. All models support horizontal installation, adding versatility for tank and cistern-fed systems.

A borehole pump sits deep underwater and uses a motor to spin internal fans called impellers. As these fans spin at high speeds, they use centrifugal force to fling the water outward, creating enough pressure to push it up a long pipe to the surface. Most pumps have several of these fans stacked on top of each other to give the water an extra boost for very deep wells. A one-way valve at the top ensures the water stays in the pipe and doesn’t fall back down when the motor stops.
The range covers 3″ (SB3), 4″ (4WN and 4BHS), 5″ (Idrogo), and 6″ (SF6) submersible pump options, each suited to different well sizes and performance requirements.
The 4WN or Idrogo are popular choices for domestic applications, offering a good balance of performance and compact dimensions. The SB3 is the appropriate option for smaller 3″ wells.
Several models, including the Idrogo, are available with WRAS approval for potable water use. Confirm the specific model’s approval status before specifying for a drinking water installation.
