Flux Petroleum Drum Pumps

Flux petroleum drum pumps move oils and fuels out of drums and IBCs without tipping, decanting or wrestling with jerry cans. Aluminium tube construction is the material Flux specifies for neutral petroleum based liquids, covering diesel, engine and gear oils, hydraulic fluid and heating oil. The pump drops straight into the container and transfers the contents through a hose and nozzle. For workshops, depots and agricultural sites, it replaces a genuinely awkward manual job.

Built for Oils and Fuels

Aluminium keeps the pump light enough to carry between containers while standing up to the mineral oils and fuels it is designed for. A mechanical seal separates the drive shaft from the liquid, which stops one product carrying over into the next, useful when the same pump serves diesel one day and hydraulic oil the next. Motor power is the main choice to make, because viscosity climbs as oils get heavier and cold weather thickens them further. Kits are supplied with petroleum grade hose, a metal hand nozzle and a compression gland.

When You Need Stainless Steel Instead

Aluminium is the right material for neutral petroleum liquids, but it is not available with explosion protection, because Flux builds every one of its ATEX rated drum pumps in stainless steel. That matters the moment you are handling petrol, solvents or any fuel that puts your working area into a classified zone. Our Flammable Liquids range covers the stainless ATEX options, and Flux also produces a stainless, mechanically sealed version of this same pump for flammable fuel duties. Send us your fluid and your site classification and we will confirm which construction you need.

Neutral petroleum based liquids, which covers diesel, engine and gear oils, hydraulic fluid, coolant, glycol and heating oil. Aluminium is the material Flux nominates for exactly this group. It is a workshop and depot range rather than a chemical handling one.

No. Aluminium pumps are not ATEX certified, and petrol is a highly flammable liquid that requires an explosion protected pump and motor. Diesel has a much higher flash point and does not create the same vapour risk under normal handling, which is why it is suitable here. For petrol and similar fuels you need a stainless steel ATEX pump.

Yes. Flux produces a stainless steel, mechanically sealed version of this pump that carries ATEX certification for flammable fuels, and our Flammable Liquids range covers the stainless options in general. The stainless route costs more, so it is worth confirming whether your duty genuinely requires it. Get in touch with your fluid and site details and we will advise.

Yes, the aluminium construction is suitable for AdBlue alongside coolant, brake fluid and glycol. Rinse the pump through with clean water after use, since AdBlue crystallises as it dries and residue left in the tube causes problems later.

Absolutely! If you’re unsure which pump is the best fit for your application, our team is here to help.
