If you only looked at one peripheral range, the PQ would be it. It is the broadest and most flexible family Pedrollo make, with radial suction, a cast iron body and a brass impeller, and a spread of models that runs from light domestic duties right up to genuine industrial use. It is also the range we move most of, simply because it covers so many jobs well.
The PQ handles clean water transfer, pressure boosting and general water supply across a wide range of duties. The smaller models suit domestic and light commercial work, while the larger and higher-spec versions step up into industrial cooling, washing and pressurisation. If you want one peripheral family to standardise on across a site, this is usually the sensible answer.
With a wide choice of models and both single and three-phase motors, there is almost always a PQ to fit the duty point. The build is conventional cast iron and brass with a stainless shaft, easy to service and easy to live with. As with the rest of the range, it wants clean, non-aggressive water and a sheltered installation.

Being the all-rounder. It covers clean water transfer, pressure boosting and water supply across a very wide span of duties, which is why it suits everything from domestic jobs to industrial installations.
They are closely related cast iron peripherals, but the PQ family is broader, with more models and higher-spec options that reach further into industrial territory. For a simple domestic duty the PK is fine; for flexibility and range, the PQ has the edge.
Yes. The larger and higher-spec PQ models, including the PQ 3000, are suited to industrial duties such as cooling, washing and pressure systems. The smaller models stay in the domestic and light commercial bracket.
Clean water free of abrasive particles, and liquids that are not chemically aggressive towards the pump. As with all peripherals, keep grit and solids away from it.
