The Plastica Argonaut AG series is the smaller “baby brother” of the AV range, designed for smaller domestic pools and water features where the larger AV is over-specified. The series runs from 0.25 HP (0.19 kW) on the AG8 up to 0.66 HP (0.49 kW) on the largest model, with self-priming capability up to 3 metres. All models share the same proven engineering as the larger AV range in a smaller, more cost-effective package.
Every AG pump is built with glass-filled polypropylene wetted parts and an AISI 316 stainless steel motor shaft, with a carbon/ceramic mechanical seal compatible with chlorine, bromine, iodine, and saltwater. The IP55-rated motor handles the wet poolside environment, and the 1.65 litre transparent strainer basket gives easy debris inspection through the clear lid. 50mm/1.5″ ABS solvent weld unions are supplied.
The current AG lineup includes the AG8-2DC (0.25 HP, 0.19 kW, 96 LPM, 8m head), AG10-2DC (0.33 HP), and AG14-2DC (0.5 HP, 0.37 kW, 166 LPM, 12m head). Each pump is sized for a particular pool volume and turnover requirement. The AG range has been sold previously as the ITT Marlow AG, ITT AG, ITT HydroAir AG, Balboa AG, and Lowara AG, parts and pumps are interchangeable across these brand variants.

Yes. The AISI 316 stainless steel motor shaft and the carbon/ceramic mechanical seal in glass-filled polypropylene construction make the AG series fully compatible with salt-chlorinated pools, as well as traditional chlorine, bromine, and iodine-treated water.
AG pumps are supplied with 50mm/1.5″ ABS solvent weld unions as standard, matching typical small-pool plumbing. Threaded adaptors or compression fittings can be used to connect to non-solvent-weld pipework if required.
Yes. The AG series is self-priming up to 3 metres. The large 1.65 litre transparent strainer basket is filled with water on first installation and during seasonal restart, after which the pump primes itself automatically on every cycle.
