Aro Flap Valve pumps use a top-suction porting design that lets gravity assist in draining solids from the pump chamber. The 2″ PF20 series handles solids up to 51mm, making it one of the most capable diaphragm pumps for shear-sensitive, abrasive, or solids-laden fluids. Typical applications include mining, industrial wastewater, and water treatment.
The range is built in aluminium, cast iron, or stainless steel bodies with Santoprene, Nitrile, or Long Life PTFE diaphragms to suit different fluid chemistries. Flow rates reach 651 LPM with a maximum head of 4.2m and a maximum fluid pressure of 120 PSI. BSP and NPT porting options are available across all material configurations.
Because the PF20 range is fully pneumatic, it can be installed in areas where electricity cannot be used and will run dry without damage if the supply fluid runs out. The bolted construction simplifies servicing, and all diaphragm and flap valve elements are replaceable using standard Aro service kits supplied through TF Pumps.

A flap valve pump replaces the conventional ball check valves with flap-style valves that can pass larger, more irregular solids without clogging. Combined with top-suction porting, this design is ideal for pumping sludges, slurries, and thick fluids containing stringy or angular debris.
Santoprene is the standard choice for general use and offers good chemical resistance at up to 107°C. Nitrile is better for oils and hydrocarbons but with a lower temperature limit of 82°C. Long Life PTFE handles aggressive chemicals and also runs up to 107°C.
Yes. The combination of 51mm solids handling, cast iron or stainless options, and pneumatic operation makes the PF20 range a strong choice for mining dewatering, tailings transfer, and abrasive slurry handling. The Pit Boss range is an alternative for higher flow solids-handling duties.
The PF20 range is offered in aluminium, cast iron, and stainless steel. Aluminium is lightest and suits general industrial duties; cast iron adds abrasion resistance; stainless steel is used where chemical compatibility or cleaner service is needed.
