Consistent Transfer Of Dry Powders

The Aro PP Series is an air-operated diaphragm pump range engineered specifically for the consistent, trouble-free transfer of dry powders. These pumps reliably move materials with a dry-weight density up to 800 kg/m³, including carbon black, expanded mica, silicones, acrylic resins, and pharmaceutical powders. Solids-handling capacity ranges from 3.3mm on the 1″ PP10 up to 9.5mm on the 3″ PP30.

Available In Aluminium Or Stainless Steel

The PP range includes 1″, 1 1/2″, 2″, and 3″ sizes in either aluminium or stainless steel construction, with Santoprene diaphragms as standard for long flex life with abrasive powders. Porting options include BSP and NPT across all models. The range runs at up to 100 PSI fluid pressure and 50 PSI air inlet pressure, with a maximum temperature of 107°C.

Stall-Free And Easy To Service

Powder pumps must cycle reliably without pulsation-induced stalls, which Aro achieves with the patented unbalanced air valve and SimulShift pilot design. The bolted construction allows quick access to diaphragms and check valves, and genuine Aro service kits supplied through TF Pumps make routine maintenance straightforward even in dusty production environments.

Yes. The Aro PP series is specifically engineered to move dry powders with a density up to 800 kg/m³. The diaphragm design generates the suction needed to lift powder through the inlet, and the check valves are sized to pass particles without jamming.

Typical applications include carbon black, expanded mica, silicones, acrylic resins, and pharmaceutical powders. Any free-flowing dry powder within the density and particle-size limits can generally be handled, though highly cohesive or hygroscopic powders need application review.

The 1″ PP10 handles powder with maximum particles of 3.3mm, the 1 1/2″ PP15 and 2″ PP20 handle up to 6.4mm, and the 3″ PP30 handles up to 9.5mm. Always size for the largest agglomerate expected, not just the average particle size.

Aluminium is lighter and more cost-effective for general industrial powders. Stainless steel is required for pharmaceutical, food-adjacent, or corrosion-sensitive applications, and offers better abrasion resistance with harder powders over long-term operation.
