The Aro Piston Pump range is a comprehensive selection of air-operated piston pumps designed for fluids that exceed the capability of standard diaphragm pumps. The range handles viscosities up to 1,000,000 centipoise and includes 2-ball pumps for uniform delivery, Chop-Check pumps for medium-to-high viscosity materials, and 4-ball pumps for high-volume recirculation. Pump ratios run from 1:1 right up to 100:1 on grease pump configurations.
The N-Series and Thunder Series motors are offered in 2″ and 3″ sizes for lubrication and light-industrial duties, while the AFX Series provides heavy-duty performance for the most demanding applications. Flow rates reach 68.6 LPM on 2-ball pumps, 124 LPM on 4-ball recirculation pumps, and 46.3 LPM on Chop-Check pumps for thick materials. Configurations are available as single-post, two-post, and heavy-duty packages.
Typical applications include oil and grease lubrication, paint and coating supply, adhesive and sealant dispensing, ink transfer, and high-pressure cleaning. Many models carry ATEX approval through groundability features for safe operation around static-sensitive materials. Aro Piston Pumps supplied through TF Pumps come with full technical support and access to genuine service kits, fluid regulators, and accessories.

A piston pump uses one or more reciprocating pistons inside a cylinder to displace fluid, generating much higher pressures than a diaphragm pump. This makes piston pumps the right choice for high-viscosity fluids, high-pressure cleaning, and lubrication applications, while diaphragm pumps suit lower-viscosity transfer duties.
The ratio is the multiplication of fluid pressure relative to air supply pressure. A 30:1 pump driven by 100 PSI air delivers 3,000 PSI fluid pressure, but at a lower flow rate. Higher ratios suit thick, high-pressure applications like grease and sealants; lower ratios suit higher-flow transfer duties.
Aro piston pumps handle viscosities up to 1,000,000 centipoise, which covers very thick mastics, caulks, sealants, and heavy industrial greases. The right pump configuration depends on both viscosity and required flow, so application support is recommended for the heavier end of the range.
Both. Aro supplies bare pumps for integration into existing systems, and complete packages including air motor, mount, follower plate, controls, and dispensing accessories. Packaged systems are typically used for grease and oil dispensing in workshops, while bare pumps suit OEM and process integration.
