The Calpeda MXS Series is a range of 5 inch close coupled multi-stage submersible pumps in which every part that touches the water, inside and out, is made from chrome-nickel stainless steel. That all stainless construction gives excellent corrosion resistance and a long working life in wells, boreholes, tanks and reservoirs. The range covers flows up to around 11 cubic metres per hour with heads reaching roughly 105 metres, so it handles everything from a garden supply to demanding industrial duties.
Like its MPS sibling, the MXS mounts the hydraulics below the motor so the pumped water cools the motor on its way up, allowing safe operation even with the motor only partially submerged. A double shaft seal with an oil chamber shields the motor from the water, and the suction strainer excludes solids larger than 2mm. Single phase MXSM models include a built-in capacitor accessible through the delivery casing, with float switch versions available for automatic control.
MXS pumps fit wells from 140mm internal diameter and work at immersion depths up to 20 metres, or they can stand directly on a flat tank floor. With over sixty models across single phase 230V and three phase 400V supplies, the range offers plenty of choice on flow and pressure. All parts in contact with the water, both internal and external, are chrome-nickel stainless steel. The multi-stage design generates high pressure from a slim body that fits down narrow boreholes.
Both are 5 inch Calpeda submersibles with the same overall format, but the MXS uses stainless steel hydraulics where the MPS uses Noryl technopolymer stages. That makes the MXS the more durable, higher performing option, with heads reaching around 105 metres across the range. The MPS remains the value pick for lighter duties.
The range covers flows from around 1 up to 11 cubic metres per hour, with heads from roughly 12 up to 105 metres depending on the model. These pumps are designed for clean water up to 35 degrees Celsius, with the suction strainer keeping out solids larger than 2mm. Typical sources are wells, boreholes, storage tanks, reservoirs and rainwater collection systems. They are not intended for sandy, dirty or aggressive liquids.
