The Calpeda MPC Series was designed from the ground up as a pool pump, and it shows. The whole wet end is high-quality thermoplastic, so corrosion and sand erosion simply are not an issue the way they can be with a metal-bodied pump sat in chlorinated water. It is self-priming with a built-in strainer basket, and the motor is fully insulated from the pumped water.
Inside, the glass-reinforced thermoplastic body pairs with a thermoplastic impeller and a stainless steel diffuser, giving you the corrosion resistance of plastic without losing efficiency. A base-plate kit comes with the pump, so mounting is sorted out of the box. Outputs run from 0.5HP on the MPC 11 up to 2HP on the MPC 61/A, with matching single-phase MPCM versions on 230v and three-phase versions on 230/400v. Flows reach roughly 40 cubic metres per hour at the top of the range.
Water temperature up to 60°C and ambient up to 40°C cover any pool you are likely to meet, and the pump is rated for continuous duty. Maximum permissible pressure in the casing is 2.5 bar, which is entirely normal for pool filtration circuits. Day-to-day maintenance is really just keeping the strainer basket clear. It is glass-reinforced thermoplastic, with a thermoplastic impeller and a stainless steel diffuser. That combination resists both corrosion from pool chemicals and erosion from any sand that finds its way through, which is exactly what you want in a filtration circuit.
We stock 13 models running from 0.5HP on the MPC 11 up to 2HP on the MPC 61/A. Single-phase MPCM units run on 230v and three-phase MPC units on 230/400v. All 13 use 2″ suction and delivery connections.
It depends on the model and the resistance in your system. As a guide, a mid-range MPCM 21/A gives you around 3 to 15 cubic metres per hour, while the 2HP MPC 61/A reaches roughly 40 cubic metres per hour. Head runs to about 14 metres at the top of the range.
The thermoplastic construction handles salt far better than cast iron, so the MPC is generally the right choice for salt-chlorinated pools. Salt concentrations do vary, so it is worth confirming your levels with us before ordering.
