Two Ranges Built For Genuinely Hard Work

Nomad make air operated double diaphragm pumps for the jobs that chew up lesser equipment. The PWR-Flo range uses an asymmetrical spool air system built around efficiency and anti-stalling, while the Trans-Flo range takes a rugged piston-style air valve approach aimed squarely at mining, construction and heavy industry. Sizes run from 1/4 inch through to 4 inch, so there is scope from small transfer duties right up to serious volume.

Self-Priming, Dry-Running, Seal-Free

Every pump here is a self-priming positive displacement unit driven purely by compressed air. There is no motor, no base plate, no variable speed drive and no mechanical seal to fail. They will run dry without damage and deadhead against a closed valve without complaint, which is exactly what you want when the sump empties or a downstream valve shuts. Larger models will lift several metres dry, so priming from a pit or tank is rarely an issue.

Materials And Connections To Suit The Site

Wetted bodies come in aluminium, 316 stainless steel, cast iron and polypropylene, with centre sections in aluminium or polypropylene depending on the range. Diaphragm options are extensive, covering nitrile, EPDM, neoprene, FKM, polyurethane, Santoprene, TPE and PTFE, including one-piece integral piston versions. Porting is available in BSP, NPT, flanged and Tri-Clamp, and many of the pumps on this page are ATEX rated.

PWR-Flo uses an asymmetrical spool design with a polypropylene air valve and centre section, engineered for air efficiency and reliable anti-stalling on repeated on-off duties. Trans-Flo uses a rugged anodised aluminium piston-style air valve built to keep working in poor quality compressed air. In short, PWR-Flo leans towards efficiency and batching, Trans-Flo towards brute durability.

Many of them are. Because the pumps are driven by compressed air rather than electricity, they are already a common choice for hazardous areas. Confirm your zone and equipment category with us before ordering.

They cope well with viscous, abrasive and shear-sensitive fluids, along with liquids carrying suspended solids. That covers slurries, sludges, resins, adhesives, paints, chemicals and general process liquids. The wetted material combination is what determines chemical compatibility, so match the body, diaphragm, ball and seat materials to your fluid.

Yes, we hold a substantial Nomad parts range including diaphragms, balls, seats, manifolds, chambers, shafts and complete wet side and air side repair kits. Send us the model number from your pump and we will identify the correct kit.
