The Pedrollo CK Range is a series of self-priming liquid ring electric pumps designed specifically for transferring diesel, kerosene, and clean water. The liquid-ring operating principle uses a rotating liquid seal to compress gas within the pump, giving the CK exceptional tolerance to entrained air and the ability to handle volatile or foamy fluids that would airlock other pump types. Flow rates run up to 50 L/min (3 m³/h) with dynamic heads up to 51m.
The CK’s main applications are fuel transfer for boiler feed service, diesel decanting, kerosene transfer, and any duty where the supply fluid may include trapped air or be drawn intermittently. The pump’s operating principle delivers stable curves with small flow variation despite large pressure swings, making the CK well-suited to demanding supply conditions. Suction capacity is up to 9 metres, and the working pressure is 6 bar.
The CK range is supplied in 110V site supply for construction-style use and 230V single-phase for permanent installations. Compact dimensions allow installation in tight plant rooms or in fuel-bowser applications. The pump handles fluids that are not chemically aggressive towards its components and is recommended for installation in covered, weather-protected locations.

A liquid ring pump compresses gas by rotating an eccentric vaned impeller within a cylindrical casing partially filled with liquid. Centrifugal force creates a rotating liquid seal between the impeller vanes, forming compression chambers that draw, compress, and discharge gas in sequence. The design tolerates entrained air far better than a standard centrifugal pump.
The CK is designed for diesel, naphtha (kerosene), and clean water free from abrasive particles. It also handles other fluids that are not chemically aggressive towards the pump components. Volatile or foamy fluids that would airlock conventional pumps remain pumpable with the CK because the liquid ring continuously resets the seal.
Fuel transfer often involves intermittent flow, partly empty supply lines, and entrained air from tank decanting. Liquid ring pumps handle all three reliably without losing prime. The CK is consequently a common choice for boiler feed fuel oil, generator diesel transfer, kerosene heating supply, and similar applications.
Flow rates reach up to 50 L/min (3 m³/h) on the largest CK variants, with dynamic heads up to 51m. The operating curve is characterised by small flow variations against large pressure swings, which is useful in fuel applications where line back-pressure varies between empty and full tanks.
The CK should be installed in a covered location, sheltered from the weather. Open-air installations are not recommended because the motor enclosure and electrical connections need protection from rain, snow, and prolonged moisture. A small purpose-built pump house or weatherproof cabinet is the standard arrangement.
