Pedrollo PKS Range - A Self-Priming Take On The PK

The PKS is the self-priming member of the cast iron peripheral family. The difference is all in the suction: it has a flap-check valve built into the suction port and supplied as standard, which lets the pump hold its prime and pull water up without the line having to be fully flooded first. That makes it far more forgiving on installations where keeping a constant prime is awkward.

Good Where The Line Sees Air

Because it copes with a bit of air in the water, the PKS suits drawing from tanks, working with small pressure sets and irrigation where the suction does not always stay full. It is the pump to reach for when a standard PK would keep losing its prime and leaving you to chase it. Same clean water remit and compact footprint as the PK, just with that self-priming convenience.

Familiar Build, Easy Maintenance

Underneath, it is the same dependable cast iron and brass construction, single or three-phase, installed somewhere sheltered. Nothing exotic to maintain, and the built-in flap valve saves you sourcing and fitting one separately.

A flap-check valve built into the suction port lets the pump retain liquid and re-establish its prime, so it can lift water without the suction line being fully flooded first. It comes fitted as standard, so there is nothing extra to source.

Whenever keeping a constant prime is difficult, for example drawing from a tank below the pump or a suction line that tends to drain down between uses. If the line stays reliably full, the standard PK does the same job more simply.

Clean water without abrasive particles, and liquids that are not aggressive to the pump materials, the same as the rest of the peripheral range. It is not built for dirty or chemically harsh fluids.

Drawing water from tanks and wells, feeding small pressure sets and light irrigation duties where the suction conditions are less than ideal. It is a common choice on smallholdings and light commercial water supply.
