The Plastica Argonaut AV Series is the larger of the two Argonaut swimming pool pump ranges, designed for medium and larger domestic pools, small commercial spas, and water features. Motor sizes run from the AV50-2DN-S at 0.33 HP (0.24 kW) up to the AV250 at 2 HP (1.5 kW), with single-phase and three-phase variants available across most models. The AV150-2DN-S delivers up to 180 LPM at 17m head, with the larger AV200 and AV250 sized for higher-flow installations.
Every AV pump uses an AISI 316 stainless steel motor shaft and a carbon/ceramic mechanical seal in glass-filled polypropylene wetted parts. This construction handles chlorine, bromine, iodine, and saltwater chemistry without corrosion, making the AV range suitable for both traditional and salt-chlorinated pools. The IP55-rated motor withstands the wet, splash-prone poolside plant room environment, and the pump is self-priming to 3 metres for installations where the pump sits above pool water level.
AV pumps come fitted with 63mm/2″ ABS solvent weld unions as standard, larger than the 50mm/1.5″ connections used on the smaller AG range. The transparent 1.75 litre strainer basket makes debris inspection straightforward during routine maintenance, and the clear body lid lets operators see fluid flow at a glance. The AV range is the same pump platform previously sold as HydroAir, ITT, Balboa, ITT Marlow, and Lowara, current Plastica AV pumps are direct replacements for these older variants.
