Brewing is hard on pumps. Liquids run hot, they carry grain and hop matter, and the whole system gets cleaned with caustic on a regular basis, which rules out a lot of general purpose kit straight away. This category brings together the centrifugal pumps we recommend for brewery duty, drawn from Enviroflex, Lowara and Ebara, so you are choosing from a shortlist that already suits the job rather than sifting the whole catalogue.
Everything here is stainless steel construction with stainless impellers, which is non negotiable once you are moving product rather than utility water. Seal selection matters just as much, and hard faced mechanical seals are the ones to specify for wort transfer and clean in place duty, where a standard seal will not last. Impeller design varies across the range too, with closed impellers suiting clean liquids and open or semi open designs handling the suspended solids that come with grain and hops.
Both BSP threaded and Tri-Clamp connections run through the range, so you can match existing brewery pipework or specify hygienic fittings for product contact. Sizes span from inch and a quarter up to 3 inch, in single phase 230v and three phase 400v, covering everything from a small craft setup to a commercial brewhouse. Self priming options are available where the pump sits above the vessel it is drawing from.

Stainless steel centrifugal pumps fitted with a hard faced mechanical seal are the standard choice for wort. A hard faced seal is essential rather than optional here, because standard seal materials do not cope well with hot wort or the caustic used in cleaning.
If the pump handles wort or is used in clean in place circuits, specify a hard faced seal. Standard mechanical seals are fine for cold utility water duties, but they are the wrong call anywhere the liquid runs hot or the pump sees caustic.
Yes, Tri-Clamp fittings are available across part of the range alongside BSP threaded options. Tri-Clamp is the usual choice for product contact because it strips down quickly for cleaning and inspection.
If the pump sits above the vessel it draws from, then yes, a self priming model saves you priming it manually every time. If it sits below the vessel with a flooded suction, a standard end suction pump will do the job perfectly well.
