The Pedrollo NGA Range is a series of centrifugal pumps featuring an open impeller in AISI 316 stainless steel, designed specifically to handle water containing suspended solids that would clog closed-impeller pumps. The open impeller passes solids up to 10mm in diameter, making the NGA suitable for transfer from channels, rivers, tanks, basins, and similar sources where the water is not entirely clean. Flow rates reach up to 350 L/min on the NGA 1A.
The standard NGA pump body is cast iron JL 250 with cataphoresis protective treatment and ISO 228/1 threaded ports. The body backplate is AISI 304 stainless steel on the NGA1 and NGA2 models, with cast iron JL 200 used on the larger NGA3 for added durability. The open impeller in AISI 316 stainless steel gives both solids-handling capability and corrosion resistance. Motor shaft is AISI 431 stainless steel.
Single-phase NGAm models (such as NGAm 1B and NGAm 1A) cover lower-power duties on 230V supply, while three-phase NGA variants cover the full range on 230/400V industrial supply. The NGA-PRO sub-range uses AISI 316 stainless steel throughout the wetted parts, making it suitable for food and beverage washing duties such as fruit, vegetable, fish, and shellfish processing. Maximum working pressure is 6 bar, with liquid temperatures from -10°C to +90°C.

An open impeller pump has impeller vanes without a front shroud, leaving a clear passage for solids to pass through the pump. This design handles water containing suspended solids that would jam a closed impeller, at the cost of slightly lower hydraulic efficiency. Open impellers are the standard choice for lightly contaminated water transfer.
The NGA range passes suspended solids up to 10mm in diameter. This covers most typical contamination in river and channel water, agricultural runoff, and process water. For larger solids or heavier contamination, sewage-class submersible pumps are a better fit; for cleaner water at higher efficiency, choose the CP or HF ranges.
Maximum working pressure on the NGA is 6 bar. The pump’s strength is solids-handling and corrosion resistance rather than high discharge pressure. For higher pressures with clean water, the 2CP or 2-5CR ranges are more appropriate.
Yes. Liquid temperatures from -10°C to +90°C are handled, suiting hot wash applications and warm process water circulation. The stainless steel impeller maintains its dimensional stability across this range without significant performance loss.
Typical applications include channel and river water transfer, irrigation from open reservoirs, basin emptying, cooling water circulation, light agricultural duties, and washing systems for food production (using the NGA-PRO variant). The pumps are also used in tank decanting where some sediment is expected in the supply.
